Do not unpack in the bedroom
Bring luggage into the garage or bathroom. Put all clothing directly into the dryer on high heat for 30 minutes. Vacuum the suitcase and store it in a sealed bag.
Check the bed
Strip the sheets and look at mattress seams, the box spring and the headboard for live bugs, dark spots, shed skins or tiny white eggs. A flashlight helps.
